WORLD MINING CONGRESS (WMC)

The organisation The World Mining Congress was established in the year 1958. The Czech Republic was one of 13 constituent members. At present, WMC has 49 members and offices on 5 continents.

WMC is an international organisation where each member state may have four representatives who are responsible for all related to the management, conduction and organisation of world congresses in their homelands. In our conditions, the activity of the mentioned four representatives forming the Czech National Committee (ČNK), which is also a member of the International Organizing Committee  (IOC - WMC), is ensured by the foreign committee of ZSDNP. The proper preparation of World Mining Congresses takes place in IOC – WMC meetings that are held once or twice a year in different member countries. The activity of the Committee is then managed by the International Committee consisting of seven members.

The mission of the Committee is to ensure, by means of congresses and accompanying exhibitions, information and experience exchange, to support and develop cooperation between individual WMC members, and to contribute to the advancement of trade in the area of mining, utilisation and treatment of mineral raw materials even in those fields that are connected closely with or consequent on mining.
